Brentwood Residence
This midcentury revival from 1963 offered the quintessential elements of its time including horizontal exposed brick, indoor/outdoor living spaces as well as vast open areas for entertaining. Working with our clients on a strict budget, we turned to the home to inspire the aesthetic while the homeowners outlined lifestyle needs. Starting with a clean and simple palette for the walls, floors and exterior, we highlighted the architecture and celebrated the landscape from within. We then curated a melange of both vintage and reproduction furniture and decor from the mid 20th century.
The result was a wink and nod to the 1960s while still employing the comforts of our modern times. The kitchen was fully remodeled to include the latest state-of-the-art appliances and finishes without interrupting the overall story of the home. The clients were very pleased with the result and more importantly, the overall livability of the home over the years.
